Acid corrosion inhibitors are used to prolong the activity time of acids and minimize metal corrosion. It can be used for acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, formic acid, sulfamic acid, acetic acid, oxalic acid, etc.
In galvanizing, wire drawing and pipe drawing processes, high concentrations of acid are used to completely clean the metal from rust and scale. Metal corrosion continues even after rust and scale removal. Corrosion inhibitor products function at this stage, creating a barrier between the metal surface and the acid solution, minimizing corrosion. Unnecessary acid-metal reaction is prevented and thus the spread of acid vapor into the working environment is reduced.
High temperature acid corrosion inhibitor is used for hydrochloric acid in underground drilling, well drilling and renovation.
