Green Transparent Chromate Coating is a type of coating made as Cr+3 on aluminum surfaces for better adhesion of the paint and increased corrosion resistance. In order for green chromate to be able to coat the surface, there must be no oil and oxides on the surface. However, since green chromate baths are coated in an acidic environment, the boilers must be stainless or made of pp. It forms a light green mottled coating on the aluminum surface. Although the coating on aluminum is Cr+3, the bath itself consists of Cr+6. Therefore, when the baths are spilled, they must be treated.
Green chromate is an accelerator product used in required quantities at required times to increase the performance of the boiler.
