Zinc phosphating, which is used as an undercoating, is preferred for parts working in outdoor environment and in the automotive industry. It is also widely used in the white goods sector due to its high salt test and impact resistance. Suitable for iron, steel and galvanized parts.
Method of Use:
In immersion zinc phosphate baths, a temperature of 45 - 70 ºC is sufficient. The application temperature in tricathion zinc phosphate baths is lower. Zinc phosphate product concentration is in the range of 4 - 5%. The time required for phosphating can be 5 - 8 minutes. The bath setup can be one-component or three to four-component. Tri-cation zinc phosphate coating baths provide high corrosion resistance. Their use is detailed. If catophoresis paint is to be used, parts should be coated with tri-cation zinc phosphate.
